Warner Bros. Negotiates with Terrorists, Releases Suicide Squad Footage Online

Rather than let the eyes of potential ticket buyers suffer through the abuse of bootleg cellphone footage, Warner Bros. has capitulated to the demands of a rabid fanbase and released Suicide Squad’s full Comic-Con trailer in glorious HD! With the release, Warner sent along this note…

Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday.

We have been unable to achieve that goal.

Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed.

We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.

Sue Kroll, President Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures

I understand wanting to have something special and exclusive for those who were able to attend Comic-Con, but it’s kind of hard to be too mad at thousands and thousands of people who are clamoring to watch a commercial for a movie that’s only going to make you millions of dollars. There are worse problems to have. Anyway, check out the trailer below.
